FRIDAY FAVES: 4/19/2019

Hey, all! I just wrote out this entire intro as well as half of my faves and then accidentally hit discard and lost it all. So here’s what I can recall from memory!

We had a hectic but happy week over here at OSG. I took my residents on TWO field trips for my day job, started work for my new (4th!!!!) job, began researching for our baby registry, and spent as much time outside as humanly possible. Caroline is doing all of the design work that her brain can handle - and probably more - while taking care of her daughter who got a virus at school. And her other daughter. She isn’t just fending for herself because her sister is sick.

We are wrapping up loose ends to make our that our OOAK collection with Emily Roggenburk is ready for you by the end of the month. AND, we listed our first vintage item for sale over on our Instagram as we expand our shopping experience. Never a dull moment around here!

Caroline is on a trip to Hocking Hills with her husband celebrating their SIXTH wedding anniversary, so today’s Faves are just mine. Here are some of the things that I am loving this week. You can always take the time to find some things that make you smile, and that’s what this weekly post is all about. As always, click on an image to be taken to its source. Enjoy your weekend!

Walter got me an iPad for Christmas so that I could make drawings for on here. I have been frustrated due to my pregnancy brain fogginess, and the fact that you have to work super light with the Apple Pencil, while I draw holding my pencil in a death grip and always utilize the resistance of the paper. I think that a book of drawing prompts would hold me accountable to get my practice in so that I can utilize my creativity in a different medium!

LOVING this Champion x UO leisure suit! Leisure suits and novelty t-shirts are the mainstays of my maternity style, since I have a MAJOR bone to pick with maternity designs. Why is everything either a nautical stripe or a grey maxi dress. What do the other women who like to have fun with their clothes do when they get pregnant - without spending $500/piece or gaining 2 pounds during their entire pregnancy? Apparently the maternity industry wants us to get rid of our personality once we become moms, but I say NO WAY! And don’t even get me started on size inclusivity in maternity products…oh, brother.

When I got my facial at Flower Power, Leia and I began talking about our shared love for Pee Wee Herman. She recommended this documentary, Beauty Is Embarrassing, about the life and work of Wayne White - one of the creative minds behind Pee Wee’s Playhouse. It was so much fun to watch and to get to know all of his work better! Walter and I loved this look into his life.

Years ago, I saw a spotlight piece on Henry LizardLover, who affectionately poses his pet lizards in these ridiculous ways for photoshoots. Few things bring me as much joy as this absolute lunacy. Google him, you won’t be disappointed.

Head over heels for this print by Carly Jean Andrews. An absolute MUST HAVE for the new house!

That’s all for this week. Check back next Friday for another edition of Faves!
