Continue Watching: Ally's Current TV Binges

WELP, it’s cold as hell outside at all times and I have no motivation to go anywhere or do anything. I haven’t seen the sun in I don’t know how long. Enter binging television.

Here are some things that I have been enjoying watching, as well as where you can find them. Let us know what you have been watching - I am desperate for new ideas until we can play outside!

What: At Home with Amy Sedaris

Where: TruTV app or Amazon Prime

Why: This show is absolute magic. I don’t know why I have been putting it off for so long, it has been on my list for a while. It is now in its second season and I am captivated. It is even more imaginative and magical than I had planned for - and my expectations were high. This is giving me a lot of ideas creatively, which is good because I have had such a block lately. It’s really exciting my inner child, one of the parts of me that I am most proud of.

What: Champaign ILL

Where: YouTube

Why: Sam Richardson is so good, he was the co-creator and star of my favorite comedy show of all time, Detroiters. I also have a GIGANTIC crush on Adam Pally. How come his character is always a douche bag, but is so lovable at the same time? This show explores what happens to a rapper’s crew after they no longer are exposed to the life of luxury to which they have become accustomed. It’s hilarious. The first 4 episodes are free on YouTube, and the rest you can watch by getting a free trial to the platform’s area of pay-to-watch content. It’s excellent.

What: Son of Zorn

Where: Hulu

Why: Jason Sudekis stars as Zorn, a brutish warrior from the (animated) world of Zephyria, who comes to our world to help raise his son. His ex-wife is Cheryl Hines and her new fiance is Tim Meadows, who is INCREDIBLE. Once you get past the extreme fantasy nature of Zorn’s character, the show is equal parts hilarious and touching.

What: Broad City

Where: Comedy Central & Comedy Central App

Why: Because this show is THE BEST and it’s the final season, DUH! If you have never watched it before, get on it! The first four seasons are available on Hulu so that you can catch up.

What: The Other Two

Where: Comedy Central & Comedy Central App

Why: We all know how dedicated I am to watching things made by SNL alum! This show is about the siblings of a worldwide pop sensation, whose name is Chase Dreams. You would think that you are going to get two siblings wrangling this dark-times-Bieber type, but instead - the kid is a sweetheart and the jealous siblings are the jerks. Their relationship is very funny, and there are a lot of cameos by comedic greats (think Ken Marino, Molly Shannon, etc.).

What: The 2000s

Where: Netflix

Why: Because we lived through this, it’s fascinating, it’s inspiring, and it’s a touchstone to your childhood. Seeing all of the footage of Obama reminds me that things weren’t always so hopeless. I really enjoyed the series. Walter and I watched the entire thing on a lazy Sunday.

There are some fun new shows coming out this month that I can’t wait to watch, so I will let you know about those as soon as we have watched and have reviews! Now get bingin’!
