Frugal Finds: Five Below

I inherited a love of a good deal from my mama. I’m always on the hunt for affordable alternatives and awesome finds that don’t break the bank. I ran into Five Below the other day to look for a handheld fan for my daughter (spoiler alert: didn’t find one but ended up finding a ton of other awesome stuff).

Here are 3 of my favorite finds from that day:

I was so surprised at the art section at Five Below and all of the affordable supplies! They had a few different options for sketchbooks but I loved this one! The paper is pretty thin but for a quick sketch and something to throw in my bag to bring with me it’s perfect.

Can you tell I wandered around the art section quite a bit? I was so surprised to see they had gouache paint! I have a great set of watercolors but I have been wanting to experiment with gouache. The only thing holding me back was the price tag for most gouache paint. Without knowing if I would even like gouache or be good with it, I didn’t want to invest too much. But…$5 for a set of 12 is the perfect price point to practice! Oooo look at that alliteration.

And finally, my favorite find of the day! This lettering book is honestly the best one I have purchased ever. It has such a great variation of lettering examples, inspiration, tutorials and information. And it was only $5! I truly could not believe what a steal this book was. I have already flipped through the entire thing and can’t wait to dive in more and have it be my go-to for lettering inspiration.

That’s all for this round of Frugal Finds! I am going to attempt to make this a more regular blog recurrence, since I’m always on the hunt for a deal anyways - I might as well share my faves!
