Bulletproof Coffee: How I Survive Life

breakfast bulletproof coffee healthy eating

As a Mom of two little girls, my caffeine requirements are obviously ridiculous. I found myself drinking multiple cups of coffee a day or making Cold Brew coffee by the gallon. That was until I discovered the (almost) magical effects of Bulletproof Coffee. The amount of energy I have from just one cup of Bulletproof coffee is insane. It keeps me going for hours without a caffeine crash.

For those of you who don't know what Bulletproof Coffee is, it is coffee blended with grass-fed butter and coconut oil or MCT (Medium-chain triglyceride) oil. When I first heard about it, my first thought was - EW butter in coffee??! Don't be turned off at the idea of the butter. Once it is blended it creates an amazing, silky foam - reminiscent of a delicious cappuccino.  I got my MCT oil from ThriveMarket.com and for my ghee, I make it at home because ghee gets VERY expensive. Let me know if you'd like a post on how I make my own ghee for a fraction of the cost.

After doing my first round of Whole30 I switched from using grass-fed butter in my coffee to ghee. (Side note: stay tuned for a post soon on what I'm eating on my second round of Whole30 which started yesterday.)

Here is how I make my Bulletproof Coffee every morning:

Step 1: Play this "Morning Coffee" Playlist by Ally

Step 2: Brew your coffee

I make my coffee in a Chemex pour over and will make a post soon all about that.

Step 3: Pour your coffee into a blender

Step 4: Add in about 1 tbsp ghee or grass-fed butter

Step 5: Pour in 1 tbsp MCT oil or coconut oil

Step 6: If you're feeling fancy, add a dash of cinnamon before you blend

Step 7: Blend for about 5 seconds or until frothy

Step 8: ENJOY and have energy for hours!

What are your favorite ways to drink your coffee? Is there something new and magical that I don't know about yet? Share your tips below! This mama is TIRED!
