FRIDAY FAVES: 10/12/2018

Happy Friday, everyone! I am officially feeling very fall ready now that the weather is cooler, which makes me so excited. You know the drill, click on the image to be taken to its source. Pull on your cozy sweaters and thick socks and enjoy this autumn weekend!

Ally:

I love Beistle illustration! This candle comes with a few different Halloween illustrations and fall scents, and there is an enamel pin inside once you burn it down. I don’t really like decorating inside for Halloween (I know, I know, I’m the minority!!) so this seems like a nice little nod to the season. This company has some really neat things for the Halloween enthusiast!

I want this hand dyed Chex mix bandana for Gus! So many adorable prints, but I’m partial to this one.

This beautiful Dolly Parton poster is a reprint of a classic from Hatch Show Print, the amazing letterpress in Nashville. Everything is done by hand, and you can see their operation in the Country Music Hall of Fame right in the heart of the city. Both the print shop and the museum are well worth the visit, SO COOL!

My amazing mother-in-law made a bunch of different cookies to send off in college care packages for the kids in the family, and Walter and I got HOOKED UP. Walter and I both grew up with our moms making butterscotch oatmeal cookies and they are our favorite (also in the care package), but she made a version of these saltine cracker cookies with white chocolate melted on top and mini M&Ms on them and OH. MY. GOSH. They almost have the crisp of a piece of flaky toffee. Thank you, Laura, I love you so much!!

I am loving this super simple DIY from A Beautiful Mess. Caroline and I are already putting our outfits together to go see the queen, Kacey Musgraves, in concert in January. I am definitely going to do this project for my outfit, which I am already so excited about.

Caroline:

I have seen all the other decade documentaries and I was SO excited to see this one had come out. I was so nostalgic during the music episode that I was crying (and Ryan was too but I would never tell the internet that). I got so emotional during the 90s country and boyband sections (don’t judge, I grew up in Kissimmee, Florida). And Ryan got emotional during the Nirvana section, which I will admit I was crying too when they were talking about Kurt’s suicide.

I saw a tutorial for crocheted cotton dishcloths and I loved it. I picked up some cotton yarn tonight to start making them in the evening. I love the idea of doing a cozy craft in the fall and having a sustainable dishcloth that I can reuse and sanitize in the washer.

Word’s cant describe how much I loved this recipe. Actually, word’s can describe, and trust me they have as I told every person I’ve talked to the past week that they have to make this. It was SO easy and so delicious and fulling. AND it’s low (no?) carb.

As Ally said, we are already planning our outfits for the Kacey Musgraves concert we are going to in January. I absolutely love this jacket for it since I’m sure it will be freezing. And it’s on sale! I think I need it.

I recently read her other book, Modern Florals, and I loved how straight forward her instructions were for drawing different florals. I am so excited for this book to come out in December!

That’s all for this week! Check back next week for more! xxo
